I love my friends :D I'm pretty sure I've written a post that goes something like this too, but.. after recent events, I feel all grateful to have friends like the ones I do again.

They have greatly assisted in helping me make a decision in something that plays a pretty big role in my life. It's not anything WAY major, but for the time being, it is kinda important. After all, people do say 'No time like the present', right?

You guys... who know about my secret mission (xD), have to keep supporting me, yeah? Or else I might chicken out. I really do want to go through with this though.

I have sorta been on Cloud Nine since telling my friends about what's been weighing down my thoughts and carefree attitude. Until I actually... do what I decided to, I will probably stay up there with my head in the clouds. Even though exams are still on-going throughout this week. It's not like I care much about the papers anyway.

So... I have decided to execute my plans during the holidays. I will so need backup. I'm starting to feel nervous just thinking about it. Seriously.

Actually, one of the main things I want this post to be about is a sort of revelation I've come across while I was taking a shower. (LOL.)

Since I was young, I've always told myself it was okay, and probably even way better to be the odd one out. Unique, odd, weird, whatever floats your boat. Haha yeah. That was probably why I waved to my seniors whom I didn't know when I was a junior. As I walked by their classes on my away to my own, I'd wave and say hi with a huge grin. If they didn't wave or smile back to me, I'd tell my friend who was walking next to me how rude people are nowadays, loud enough for anyone close by to hear. My friends did tell it was scary to walk with me because I did that so often. The only thing I thought of was that it was tons of fun.

Other than that, I also waved at people when I'm in some mode of transport. I wave to people in cars and buses and ferries while I'm in/on another car, bus or ferry. C'mon, doesn't it sound way fun to you? Spread the joy, people! You don't lose anything when you randomly wave to random people. Besides the slightest bit of your dignity of course, but it's totally worth it.

So yeah. My philosophy went something along the lines of "You don't have to do what other people do. You'll more than likely lead a happier life doing what you think will make you happy compared to not doing something because others don't do it."

It's okay to be selfish sometimes. Sometimes, you just have to put your own happiness in front of others'. You're the one who's going to live your life, so you'd better make the right choices. No one's going to live your regrets for you. So don't ever regret not doing something, because you'll have that regret with you for the rest of your life.

I'm probably going on and on and you guys are probably tired of reading junk like that. It does mean a lot to me as an individual though. At this point, you're all probably wondering: What on earth does this have to do with her current situation? Well, I've always thought that it was only proper for a guy to ask a girl out on a date, or out anywhere. The idea of a girl asking was totally alien to me. Like "Hah, no way!". But since I've taken The Shower Of Philosophy Recall, I'm totally confident and sure that what I've decided on is the right way to go.

Folks, I'm about to take the road less traveled. I hope you'll be there to support me the whole way. Again, thanks, my friends. Love you all very much. ♥

Friends are like family you can pick.

Tuition On A Saturday Night
Saturday, May 29, 2010

Surprise, surprise. I'm not going to rant about how boring class should've been on a weekend. In contrast, I'm going to tell you guys about the highlights of it!

Not many people came, about ten. Because of the small group, we could ask anything we want and take our time. We asked ridiculous things and class actually became really fun. For example, teacher refreshed our memory of the past year literature. Some guy mixed it up with another story then teacher claimed his headache was coming back because the guy's story was kinda confusing. xD

And we also laughed about other... funny stuff. Like seriously. It was hilarious stuff!

About half an hour before class was supposed to end, the teacher gave us some work to do and left the room. Obviously we all got to talking. ...About prom. And I kinda spilled some of the beans. My own beans, mind you. I was initially gonna tell Ming Yu and Yean-Li and May Gee only, but in the end, the whole class knew. What beans I spilled, I'm not gonna write here. I've told everyone to keep their traps shut too. Hopefully they're kind enough to do just that. I'll give you a hint though. It was about my date to the prom. It was really fun talking about it too, actually. It felt kinda nice to have it out in the open. Uh, half-open. A lot of them were surprised though.

Now I'm scared. Because... like... ARGH! This thing is killing meeeee. Keeeeeeling meeee! Really. I feel like my heart's gonna burst open at any moment.

Oh yeah, so the teacher had to come back in eventually right? Then we asked him about his prom! One guy asked him how many dates he had. The teacher said he shouldn't ask about the number of dates. Instead, he should ask how many love letters he got! We kinda joked that when he reads the love letters, his reply would be full of corrections for the mistakes in the love letter he got; since he's a language teacher and all! Hahaha! And at the end, he'd say "Keep up the good work" and "Try again." xDD

A quote from my conversation about prom, dates, and boys:
Nina: We are soo infatuated.
Resha: IT'S ALMOST PATHETIC!

Facebook

Yeah, I'm starting this post off with Facebook. Recently, a lot of people have been joining a group which title says something about the letters U and I being together on the keyboard, and JK right below it. And it sorta reminded me of a popular pick-up line.

Guy:
If I could rearrange the alphabet, I would put U and I together.

The supposed reply:
Aww, that's so sweet.

The reply I've thought of:
Yeah, that must be what the person who invented the QWERTY keyboard thought. He arranged U and I together as a joke though, 'cause he also put J and K right below it. For 'Just Kidding'. :)

Nooow. I would like to give a shout out to a friend of mine! Bryan! Uhh, I don't think you guys need me to tell you which Bryan it is. He doesn't read my blog, but it's fun to give a shout-out to him anyway :]

He has somehow gotten me to study. Amazing, right? Not only that, ON A SATURDAY. Like, whoaa. Okay okay, I didn't actually study. I did homework. BUT STILL. I do all my homework at the last minute. So doing stuff on a Saturday is miraculous. Thank you Bryan, you're an inspiration. *_*

Mhmm. I'm going for tennis later! I kinda miss it. Haven't gone for about a month already. Wonder if I can still play okay. Hope so.

My nose is full of blackheads. Not good. Need to scrub. Main problem: I don't have a scrub! Will have to bug mom. And my skin's so dryy. I need to take better care of myself! D: My mental health's okay for the most part, so now I need to take care of my appearance. :)

A three day weekend is aweomeful.

Can't wait, can't wait, can'twaitcan'twaitcan'twait.
But I must.

Some things are really just too good to be true. It's hard to believe something when it's seems so... impossible. Like a fairytale.

Scared, Afraid
Monday, May 24, 2010

You know what? Actually I don't think I care that much after I typed in the title.

I was actually going to say I'm scared I will get attached to a new game I'm going to try. Like, now. I mean, a new game I'm going to try now. Initially I wasn't going to try it, but... since it didn't require any downloading... it just... called out to me. Yeah. Virtual dangers. Sigh.

The game I'm talking about is the one that Alphaeus posted about. Yeah. For those of you who don't know what game it is, it's all right, it's not that important.

You know, I'm supposed to be studying for my Additional Mathematics test tomorrow. Buuut I'm not. Obviously. Instead, I'm thinking about studying, listening to My First Kiss by 3OH!3 and trying to figure out this game.

Well then I'm off. Don't wanna stay up too late. I've done that enough the past few nights.

P.S. I'm only blogging this post because everyone seems to have updated within the past two days but I haven't. :] I don't like being left out!

Must... study... for... driving theory!
Must... pass!

Woot yeah, exams are OVERR!
And it's Friday after school, meaning the weekends are HERE!

I can play on my PSP again! I made a promise to myself to not play it for the past three days. But the three days are up, and I can play agaaain! Sweet sweet games, here I come!
&
I like pushing trolleys because they make me feel like I'm driving. No seat belts, no speed limits and no summons!

The first thought is just a thought. It's not true. There are still exams next week and the week after that, but it feels like there are no more.

I want to be there for you. ♥

Deep Purple
Monday, May 17, 2010

I'm not talking about the colour, I'm talking about the band!

Went for their concert yesterday evening/night, and O-M-G they're gooood. The band's been around for who knows how many years? I mean, their songs were the ones played in discos and clubs during my dad's generation!

The concert-goers were pretty great too. Most people shook their heads, clapped to the beat and cheered their heads off. And that's a total surprise, seeing as I thought most of them would be middle-aged people.

My favourite parts of the concert had to be the instrument solos. Like ZOMG man, it was AWESOME! Choon Weng, sorry. I knew I said you were a really good pianist, and you are, but I take back what I said about being proud. Play like how the pianist of Deep Purple played yesterday and then I'll be proud. I'll never ask of anything else from you ever again either. Haha. The guitar solos were amaaaazing too. Gah, everything was just so good! Even the old man sang so great! Like, whoaaaa! I didn't think he'd still be able to sing like that! He pulled the notes and hit the high notes I didn't think he'd be capable of. Amazing, all of them are. Really.

The crowd favourites are more than very likely Highway Star and Smoke On The Water. These two, I think, are probably the more popular songs as well. Oh, and another crowd favourite could also be Black Night. The band, or planner, is pretty smart I must admit. Put the two best crowd pleasers at the start and end of the concert. When the lights go off in the beginning, they played Highway Star. At the very end, they got the people sitting at the special front seats to run right in front of the stage to form a mob and jump and cheer til they lose their voices. ...I am jealous of those people. The members of Deep Purple threw their guitar picks and drumsticks and bandanna and everything into that group of people. DD: I was sitting too far away and too much to the side to even consider or hope about getting anything.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that I should include this. During one of the piano solos, the pianist played a long medley of a bunch of songs. In it was... Rasa Sayang! Like, OMG right?! Who in Malaysia doesn't know the Rasa Sayang song?! Hahaha, obviously he got a whole lot of noise- good noise- when he played it. And he played it in a rocker kinda way. But that goes without saying.

There are many more pictures, but I'm stingy. :3

As much as I loved the concert, that's about all I have to say about it. Now about my time at Genting.

Uh, felt like I was eating the whole time I was there, and even before I left? Like first, I had a kaya pao. Then I had a lot of rice and chicken and fish and... stuff. Then I had kaya and strawberry dorayaki. Then I had a Chocolate Frappuccino and a fruit/berry cheesecake at Starbucks. Followed by chicken rice. Luckily, no more after that. I ate all that in approximately 12 hours. OMG... I really have to get exercising again. Else I don't feel hot and sexy no more! Hahahaha, kidding, kidding!

I have something to add to my eating at Starbucks. It was my first time having anything at Starbucks! Woo! Another first for me! I've never went there before because... I'm not a coffee person. And if you've noticed, I didn't get anything coffee-esque either. So yeah! I'm adding this to my list of firsts. Be sure to check it out if you've never done so before. The link's to the left. Y'know, that way.
<------

My chocolate ♥

Uh... I've eaten most of it by now. But aren't the colours pretty?

Hm... in the intervals between my constant eating, I walked around trying to keep my friend, a young girl, occupied. I... didn't really know what to do at first. I'm not that close to her, you see. Brothers and friend went off to watch Iron Man 2, while parents went off to the casino. Yeaaah, so I was stuck with the little girl. In the end, we walked into stores and stalls selling accessories and cutesy/unique things. Like... she bought a waffle while I got myself some toothpaste. Kidding! Her waffle's actually correction tape and my toothpaste is actually a pen. Teehee. Also, in the same shop, I got myself an eye-cover/blind or whatever you call it. You know, the one people put over their eyes when they want to sleep but it's too bright.

Toothpaste? No.

Mhmm, I think that's about it. Over and out!

P.S. I initially wanted to add a video, just a small short clip to show you guys how the was, but... I decided not to. It's just too awesome. I wanted to put in a short low-quality music clip too. Then... I thought it'd be too low quality for you guys to hear anything too. So... nothing. But it's in Minerva (my netbook)! :D

Can't Believe It Sometimes
Thursday, May 13, 2010

Oh wow. My hair's grown so long already. It seems like it was yesterday that I had cut it short. In reality though, I had it cut like, two years ago? It just... came to me like a shock or something when I looked at myself in the mirror. It's... long now. Just, wow.

Who knows, maybe I'll cut it short again next time. Change is always good and fun.

Can't live without spontaneity.

Are you gonna ask me or what? If not, I'm probably better off without you anyway. So it's actually good either way. Uh... Just asking? :D

Version 4.0!
Saturday, May 8, 2010

Yep, finally got rid of that pink menace, my previous blog layout. Now this soothes the eyes a bit more, doesn't it?

I've actually done most of the work some time ago, but I just tweaked it a bit more to get the final product. Mhmm nothing much to say really.

I still haven't finished- okay, forget finish. I haven't even gotten 15% of my moral folio done yet. I need to stay away from the computer. But it's like a siren, calling out to me. It goes like, "Resha. Reshaaaaa. I'm right here. You know you want me. ;)". And then resistance is futile. I go straight over and indulge myself in pixels and garbage.

...But seriously. I do need to get this folio done. Can't afford to not hand it up. So. Must. Do. C'mooooon.

Piano Recital

Just came back from Choon Weng's first ever solo piano recital. He's gooooood. Y'know, I just about never really feel proud of anything, but as he was playing I actually felt proud I had a friend like him :D Of course at that time I was proud because of his piano playing skills, but then I realised I don't just like him 'cause he can play the piano, I like him 'cause he's him. I mean, if someone I hated played the piano really well, well, I wouldn't feel proud, now would I?

But anyway, this post is supposed to be about him, and his successful recital. Just wanna wish you congratulations, dude! ...Okay, he doesn't read my blog but it's the thought that counts. =]

So let's talk a little about him. He's cute. Hahaha, not literally, like cute-looking or anything. But he's always so shy, it makes you want to make him come out of his shell. It's just plain adorable. He cut his hair yesterday, and everyone laughed (good-naturedly, might I add) at his hair. He's all embarrassed and stuff, and it's funny the way he reacts. Basically though, he's a pretty cool guy. :] Oh yeah, and he's tall. And skinny. But more important is the combination of the two. Tall and skinny. Yeeep. You'll see later on.

Have I mentioned that his recital was awesome? Yeah well it was! He played great. Not perfect, how hard is it to achieve perfection? Near impossible. I could see his hand shaking at the start of his recital, but it lessened towards the end. He admitted that compared to his performances at concerts, he was much more nervous during this recital because majority of the audience this time consisted of his friends, while at the concert the audience were strangers.

So his piano exam's in June, and he said he would have another recital about two weeks before that. I can't wait! It'll probably be the same songs, but I don't mind. I'm all up for supporting him and helping him get over his nervousness. Oh, that reminds me. I recorded some of his playing after the recital. This he just played for fun and he didn't prepare beforehand. But it's still great. :D

It's worth watching, even though the clips are just a couple of seconds short. I feel like I have a genius friend. *basks in pride*

My genius pianist friend, Max/Choon Weng and I, the not-so-much-of-a-genius pianist person.

My two close friends and I. Me, Yean-Li and Mabel/Ming Yu.

Note: I have no idea why there are giant ugly quadrilateral images of a videocam next to my videos. Can't get rid of 'em. I'll just leave them there I guess.

It's Not The End
Wednesday, May 5, 2010

I'm here to express my utmost dissatisfaction with the results of my choir competition.

Our school kinda messed up the second half of the second song, but besides that it was great. And not just great, but really really great. Really! And I don't even think we messed it up that bad.

Okay, let's not just talk about how my school did. What I am most disappointed and upset about is the selection of the school for third place. The host school got the spot, and in my honest opinion, they really don't deserve it. I won't be half this angry if it was some other school which got third place. No, I don't have a personal grudge or anything against that school. It's just that their choir performance was barely like a choir, their harmony was terrible, you couldn't hear the layering, there were no dynamics and the singers practically just shouted the song at some points.

So, of all schools, the question I wanna ask is "Why this school?". My friend is kinda convinced bribery was involved, though I thought it was a bit far-fetched. I think it's just a simple case of being biased. Let me tell you how they supposedly decided the final winners.

The judges only placed all of the participating schools in a listed order in which the school they thought was best was put at the top, second put second on the list and so on. Then... someone, whom I have no idea who it is, decides the final places. When they announced the third place winners, everyone got a shock, and I'm not just talking about the participants from my school. Even the judges' faces portrayed disbelief and dissatisfaction. Obviously they didn't like what they just heard either.

Actually, before the actual results were announced, our supervising teacher got a glimpse of the papers on the table where they announced stuff. She saw that our school was listed second and she smiled really wide and gave a thumbs up to... herself? It wasn't really for anyone, it was just a thumbs up to show how happy she was. At that time we didn't know what she was grinning for, but we could tell good news was on the way. Well, apparently we were wrong, eh?

But what's passed is the past, and what's done is done.

Like the title of this post suggests, it is not the end. There is yet another competition in August, and we will dominate that one. Just wait and see! I think today's events has got everyone really determined to do ever better.

Jive
Monday, May 3, 2010

I've just learned the very basics of the Jive! Ain't that awesome? It is!

I didn't have Latin dance class last week as my instructor went overseas to compete in a competition. Furthermore, I think he just came back from Penang (a different state than where I am right now) earlier today, also for a competition. It's great that he takes part in so many of these competitions. I wonder if I will be like that in the future! xD

Sarah and I arrived early, like way way early, so we naturally got to practice a bit first before class started. When our instructor came, we saw that he brought a guy along with him. We were like "Hey cool! We now have a grand total of three males in the class! Compared to like, what- ten females?". I kept saying stuff like "Nah, maybe he's just helping our instructor carry stuff. Maybe he's just being a temporary mule.". Hahahaha. He was carrying a whole lotta stuff. But in the end, he was there to stay. For this class anyway, I have no idea if he'll be reappearing next week. Can't say I care very much, besides the fact that it's nice to have another person helping out and pointing out our faults to further improve ourselves. :D Besides, he dances preeeetty well himself. And I mean he's good. Like, good good. :)~

So because there was no class last week, today's class was two hours! It was great, I tell you, great! ...Except for the stretches we did at the start. I mean, I didn't dislike it at all 'cause I thought it was for the better good (ha ha hah!), but it was paaaaainful. Oww.

Okay, so we didn't do Jive from the very start. We refined (or tried to anyway) our Rumba hips, shoulders and stuff. I dance more sexily now. ;D Haha, kidding. I do think I'm doing better than before though. Uh, like d'oh. Of course I am. Tee hee.

Oh yeah, and the during the last class we had (before the one we had today), there was this one lady who dressed up really nicely for class. I mean, her dress was nice, classing and stuff. I told her it looked good, and she asked Sarah and I to wear something nicer to class next time, 'cause Latin is all about that. :D So we took her advice to heart and decided to wear a skirt to the next class, which was today. Yeaaaah, and today was the day our instructor wanted us to do stretches. Hah. So it was a little awkward, but nothing too overbearing. :D I guess today would be the first and last day (at least until a very long time into the future) we would wear a skirt to class? Time to revert back to the T-shirts and shorts.

I was still all pumped up about learning how to do the Jive when I got home. When I saw my dad, I went all "Hey hey, I learned Jive in class!". He chuckled and responded with "Jive? Jive's for Negros." in a joking kinda voice. I went like all "I don't caaaare~" and packed some of my stuff to go upstairs. Was all sweaty and stinky and had to bathe, y'know?

I was lovin' Jive so much that I actually half-Jived up the stairs! Hahaha. It was basically just a hop in your step, raising your knee up high with the bottom half of your legs straight. Jive is coooooool I tell you.

Actually, there is quite a lot more to write about, especially choir in school this morning. But... I'm tired. So I won't write about it. 'Til next time! :]

Why is it so hard to get guys to dance? Like, seriously! I'm not jsut talking about Latin dance, but a lot of other dances too. The only dance I know there are lots of guys in is Breakdance and Hip Hop. Come over to Laaaaatin dance! D: I need a partneeeeer.
