We're talking about mine, of course! I didn't want to make a big deal out of it actually. Didn't feel like anything special at all the day before.
I went to sleep at eleven, and was already half asleep when my phone rang. It was Elwin, calling to shout in my ears a "Happy Birthday!". Right after I put down the phone, it started ringing again. It was Ben Lim this time. He didn't shout, but he wished me a HB too. Then I received about four texts. Thank you, guys and girls. :D
Then I went to sleep.
While I was sleeping... my phone rang. I woke up for a second, took note of it ringing, ignored it, and went back to sleep.
But my day was first started to look bright when I turned on the lights in the washroom to find a note stuck on the mirror. My brother had written it, wishing me a happy birthday signing it from the whole family. I could tell he wrote it though by the handwriting. When I went downstairs, mom told me that he initially spelled my name 'Tsing You' instead of 'Tsing Yu'. Hahaha!
When I went to school, friends started wishing me a HB. Some... wished me after hearing their friends wish me. Haha. It's all cool. In class, Elwin the darlin' handed me a colourful cupcake with a relighting candle on it. I played along and blew a stream of air into it non-stop. Still wouldn't permanently go out. Haha. Oh, and he got the whole class to sing the Happy Birthday song for me while he held the cupcake in front of me. It was so sweet. :] During recess, I found out that the cupcake was... CHEESE. LIKE ZOMG. Delish, absolutely!
Nichelle got me a bottle of lotion.
Nice-smelling lotion. :D (I kinda
hinted told her to get me a fluffy towel for my birthday the night before during tuition. I told her she could get me some nice-smelling lotion too. Haha.) Sangeetha on the other hand, who said she would turn up at school, never did. Not for most of the schooling time anyway. She showed up about... an hour or a half before we were released from school to hand me my present. Ain't she such a nice girl? =] She gave me a necklace! And a pretty one at that! Thank you two girls for the thoughtful gifts. =]
Nichelle & Sangeetha's gifts for me.Nothing much at school other than that. On Facebook, a couple of people wished me. I thanked each one personally, meaning no copy and pastes. xD Some responded to my
witty kind thank yous, and continued with a short chat.
Some other things happened as well, but I can't talk about them here. :P It happened with someone... whom I can't state here either. xD
I went for chinese painting class and painted grapes again. It turned out nice-ish this time! Really! xD
Told you it was better :DWhen I got home, my family decided to eat the cake Auntie Mary brought over. She's a family friend, or more specifically, my mom's kinda-close-I-guess friend. She's a really nice lady. They sang the HB song for me and I blew out all seventeen candles in one huff. :D I had a cherry, and I wanted a strawberry too but everyone else stole it. Wanted the strawberry to whiten my teeth! By the way, I think I didn't write a post about my braces being removed. Well, they were removed yesterday. Got my retainers today. Aaanyway, back to the cake. It was American Chocolate cake. Yummeh.
My slice o' cake!Went online after that, and I chatted with Nina for some time. Nina Yap finally realised that it was my birthday half an hour before the clock struck twelve. Hahaha, the way she panicked was funny. She sang me the birthday song. Kinda. She just typed out the words, really.
All in all, it was a pretty great day for a day in which I didn't expect anything special to happen at all. I guess my birthday was happy one after all. :]
Making a wish on seventeen candles after a seventeen-year journey through life.
Looks like you had a great day, and I'm so jealous of your Chinese painting!
